The History Department is dedicated to excellent teaching and innovative research. Students learn to work with original sources and to think and write critically about a wide variety of historical problems.
History majors become good writers and effective speakers. They know how to use evidence and argument to support their point of view. They also understand the importance of placing current events into historical perspective.
It is an inquiry into what happened in the past, when it happened , and how it happened. It is an in inquiry into the inevitable changes in human affairs in the past and the ways these changes affect, influence or determine the patterns of life in the society. History is, or should be an attempt to re – think the past .

Mission:-
The History department prepares students for a wide range of careers by teaching a core set of transferable skills through the study of societies, cultures and economies across a broad chronological and geographical spectrum.
AIMS:-
Our aim is, students can manipulate apparatus and perform experiments safely.
OBJECTIVE:
- The History Department provides learning opportunities for students to develop the skills needed to engage in Historical research and analysis and to engage the present by exploring and interpreting the past.
- To have some knowledge and understanding of historical development in the wider world; to help children understand society and their place within it, so that they develop a sense of their cultural heritage; to develop in children the skills of enquiry, investigation, analysis, evaluation and presentations.
- History of education helps one to draw comparisons of the construct research questions and analysis of the result.
